In particular, Mr. Savoia has considerable experience handling matters involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and disfiguring burns.
Throughout his career, Mr. Savoia has developed a reputation as an aggressive trial lawyer who will fight to ensure his clients receive full and fair compensation.
PERSONAL INJURY EXPERIENCE
Mr. Savoia has handled hundreds of personal injury cases in his career and has helped generate millions of dollars in recoveries for his clients. Mr. Savoia was co-counsel to many million-dollar recoveries including $1,250,000 in a wrongful death auto accident case and $1,000,000 for a woman who developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome due to an injury at work. Here are just a few of Mr. Savoia’s notable recoveries and outcomes for his clients:
Motor Vehicle Accidents
In 2017, Mr. Savoia served as co-counsel in obtaining a $2,250,000 recovery in New Jersey Federal Court on behalf of a woman who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a motor vehicle accident with a commercial box truck.
In 2014, Mr. Savoia represented a woman from New Jersey injured in an auto accident who suffered a disc herniation in her neck that required surgery. Mr. Savoia was able to negotiate a settlement for his client in the amount of $240,000 almost the entire amount of the insurance coverage available. Mr. Savoia continued to fight for his client bringing an Underinsured Motorist claim and obtained an additional $50,000 for a total recovery of $290,000.
In 2015, Mr. Savoia represented a woman from Pennsylvania who injured her shoulder as a result of a negligent driver. Mr. Savoia was able to obtain a recovery for his client in the amount of $180,000.
Slip/Trip and Falls (Premises Liability)
Mr. Savoia was also able to recover a substantial recovery for a man who was injured when he slipped and fell at work. The client injured his lower back resulting in a fusion surgery. Mr. Savoia was able to obtain a settlement in the amount of $600,000 to compensate his client for his pain and suffering.
In 2014, Mr. Savoia served as co-counsel in obtaining a $550,000 settlement for a woman who suffered a traumatic brain injury when a door cover fell on her head at a store.
In 2016 Mr. Savoia successfully obtained a $80,000 settlement for a man injured while skiing in Pennsylvania. At the time the law did not provide for such a recovery, as typically one assumes the risk of injury when skiing. Mr. Savoia successfully fought motions to dismiss the case at both the trial and appellate levels to obtain a recovery for his client.
Mr. Savoia represented a little girl from Pennsylvania who was injured when she was attacked by her neighbor’s dog. The insurance company initially refused to settle this matter claiming that they had no prior knowledge of the dog’s violent tendencies. However, Mr. Savoia discovered a prior dog attack by the same dog and was able to negotiate a settlement for the child in the amount of $125,000.
Work Place Accidents
Mr. Savoia has experience with work place accidents. Mr. Savoia represented a man who suffered an electrical shock at work. The electrical shock caused him to suffer from nerve damage in his wrists and hands. Mr. Savoia was able to obtain a $150,000 recovery for his client to compensate him for his injuries.
While the outcome is important. Mr. Savoia takes pride in taking care of his clients. Mr. Savoia has an open-door policy where clients are welcomed in his office any time to discuss any issues that they have related to their case. Making the client feel at ease with the complex process of a personal injury lawsuit is Mr. Savoia’s top priority. When injuries happen often insurance companies are the first to try to communicate with the injured victim, often stating half-truths in an attempt to make the victim either not seek the treatment they medically need or to try and force a settlement that is not fair to compensate the injured victim. Mr. Savoia has dedicated his career to making sure insurance companies pay what is fair to fully compensate his clients. Often that means taking a case all the way through trial and appeal.
Mr. Savoia graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2007 with B.A. in Political Economics. While at Bloomsburg Mr. Savoia was on the executive council of the National Honor Fraternity, and was published in the Frederick Douglas Book of Academic Excellence. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law in 2010. While in law school Mr. Savoia clerked for the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office Capital Crimes Appellate Litigation Unit and the Perry County Public Defender’s Office. Prior to graduating law school Mr. Savoia was recognized as a Public Interest Advocate. He passed the bar exam in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 2010 and is licensed to practice law in both states. He is admitted to practice in Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey, Pennsylvania Federal District Court in the Eastern and Middle District as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
